| A Mickey Mantle autographed baseball is the centerpiece of many sports memorabilia collections, and why shouldn’t it be? Mantle was not only an icon on the field, but also really knew how to sign a baseball.
This Rawlings official American League baseball (President Bobby Brown) has a beautiful milky white color and features Mantle’s typically large, perfectly legible signature in blue ink across the sweet spot. He really took his time with this one, perhaps because the ball itself is as nice as it is, with just a few extremely minor areas of light toning that most dealers would not deem worth mentioning.
Given that Mantle, Williams, and DiMaggio are probably the most common targets for forgers, authentic Mantle signatures like this one are always nice to come across.
