PSA offers grading for autographed baseballs, assigning 1-10 grades separately based on the condition of the ball and the autograph and then averaging the two for an overall grade, with the freedom to round up or down by .5 based on eye appeal. The Mantle ball offered here has been graded a PSA MINT 9, with sub-grades of 9 for both the autograph and the ball. Very few Mantle balls have earned grades of 9 or above, which is why 9s have sold for up to $2000 and 9.5s and 10s are nearly non-existent.
As with all graded baseballs, PSA/DNA has encapsulated the ball and sealed the case with tamper-proof stickers, though the ball can easily be removed for display outside the case if a future owner wants to break the seals.
